PE & School Sport Apprentice
As a PE Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering PE lessons and engaging inactive young people
Your role includes assisting with extra-curricular clubs, active break times, and lunchtimes
You will also deliver small group or one-to-one interventions using physical activity to improve behaviour, attendance, and handwriting.
Administrative tasks include arranging participation in sports competitions and festivals. You will be responsible for sports equipment, display boards, and promoting physical activities within the school. Additionally, you will support young leaders and sports ambassadors in their roles.
The role involves developing new interventions to engage parents and children in physical activity and working with community organizations to enhance school sports
Using data to support interventions and demonstrate impact is essential
You will also undertake safeguarding, first aid, and any other training required by the school
Training:
Community Sport and Health Officer Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
You will primarily work at the school, with one day per week on day release
Training Outcome:
This position is initially available on a full-time, fixed-term contract
Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship, there is the possibility of an ongoing position, which will be discussed at the appropriate time
