Apprentice Business Administrator - University of Oxford - various departments and locations

You will assist with administrative tasks within your specific department to enable the smooth running of day to day operations. You will learn to provide support in a wide range of specialist and/or generalist administration areas, depending on the department you work with.

These roles provide an excellent opportunity for an individual who wants to gain a broad range of administration skills with the ability to work at a fast pace within a successful team.

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

Provide general or specialist administrative support to a business support department or area of education  Undertake operational support activities Communicate by telephone, email, and face-to-face to deal withy enquiries in a helpful and professional manner Gain experience in dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally Contribute to the successful completion of a variety of projects including events and systems improvement processes Develop team-working skills and the ability to manage a wide and varied set of tasks Gain an understanding of the University policies and procedures relevant to the role Prepare reports, documentation and maintain up-to-date records Participate in and support the public engagement activities of the department

Please note that departments are in a variety of locations across the centre of Oxford and Headington. 



Training:

Duration:

15 months practical training period, plus 3 months for End Point Assessment

Delivery model:

Work-based training with your employer 10 days Business Professionals training at college  Approximately 12 on-site assessment visits per year Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (7 days at college for each, if required) Off the job training will count for at least 6 hours per week of an apprentice’s time at work

Qualifications included:

Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths (if required) Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard

End Point Assessment:

Knowledge test Portfolio based interview Project/improvement presentation

Training Outcome:
Over 80% of our apprentices continue with us in the role they have been trained for after their apprenticeship and that is just the start of their career

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday usually 9.00am - 5.00pm You will have a fixed term contract of employment with the University of Oxford and this will range from 18-24 months depending on the department you work for.
