Apprentice Carpenter

As an apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience working on historic and modern buildings within our stunning campus. An average week as a Carpenter Apprentice at Repton School will be hands-on, varied, and full of opportunities to develop your skills. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to the upkeep and improvement of our historic and modern facilities.

Your tasks could include:

Assisting with Repairs and Maintenance: Learn how to repair doors, windows, furniture, and other wooden fixtures across our campus. Crafting and Installation: Gain experience in crafting and installing bespoke wooden items, such as shelving, panelling, and storage solutions. Supporting Major Projects: Be involved in exciting renovation and restoration projects on some of the school’s historic buildings.

Each day will provide new challenges, allowing you to build essential carpentry skills while contributing to the school’s legacy.



Training:

Level 2 Wood Occupations Site or Architectural (Bench) apprenticeship standard.

Level 1 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required).

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release. The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.



Training Outcome:

Full-time employment at the end of the training period.
