Level 3 Apprentice Teaching Assistant Reception
Duties and Responsibilities to include:
Direct, supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities. Establish good professional relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs. Promote British values and the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils. Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher. Support pupils who exhibit challenging behaviour by helping them to recognise triggers and implement de-escalation techniques. Deliver intervention programmes to individuals or groups of children. Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence. Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher. As appropriate, look after sick or upset pupils administering basic first aid as required. Attend to the physical needs of pupils. Supervise pupils during break times and plan and organise activities if required. For the 1-1 support, to aid the pupil to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and on his/her own by, for example: To establish supportive relationships with the pupil concerned. To promote the acceptance and inclusion of the pupil with SEN, encouraging pupils to interact with each other.Training:
Full level 3 Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools. Safeguarding training. Working in partnership with the class teacher to provide excellent learning opportunities for pupils. Experience in other classes. Information sessions eg, SEN, assessment, primary curriculum, etc. Opportunities to join staff training sessions.
Training Outcome:
A permanent position may be offered upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. Ongoing training and support to allow for future career progression, including possible pathways into teaching.

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, 29 hours per week, 8.40am-11.45am, 12.45pm-3.10pm with 30 mins lunch time supervision 3 x per week.
