IT Technician Apprentice
As this role is an apprenticeship role training will be provided to enable the postholder to perform the duties of an IT Technician
Provide a rapid and friendly first and, where required, second line response to IT problems encountered by staff and students
Provide field technician support as required
Work relating to updating and patching, data backup and retrieval and other areas as directed by the Local Network Manager or other IT staff
Work with the Local Network Manager and other relevant IT staff to ensure that all IT related documentation is kept up to date e.g. asset management/inventory systems and IT documentation
Support the learning of our students by effective use of IT; this could include setting up specialist equipment and other technology for use in various teaching sessions
The post holder must ensure that Academy policies are applied at all times including the Information Security, Data Protection, Safeguarding and Acceptable Use policies
The post holder is required to ensure that they maintain their own health and safety and support that of any colleagues, service users or visitors in their environment in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and the training they receive

The successful applicant will be allocated with an assessor who will visit them in the workplace once every 6-8 weeksTraining Outcome:

Bishop Milner Catholic College is based in Dudley and provides 11-18 provision. In September 2013 Bishop Milner Catholic School changed its name to Bishop Milner Catholic College to reflect its inclusivity for all students from 11 to 18. Also at this time Bishop Milner, along with St Chad’s (Sedgley) and St Joseph’s (Dudley) Catholic Primary Schools formed a Multi Academy Company (MAC) and took the overarching name of St John Bosco Catholic Academy. Since 2013 the Multi Academy has grown to eight schools.

Monday - Thursday, 08:30 - 16:30 and Friday, 08:30 - 16:00
