Early Years Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant Apprentice
Promote the welfare, health, and safety of children and young people by assisting in maintaining a safe learning environment for pupils and staff.
Provide support to teaching staff with routine administrative tasks.
Supervise and provide particular support for individuals and groups of pupils, including those with SEN, disabilities, personal needs, or EAL, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
Foster children’s intellectual development, helping them acquire cognitive and learning skills.
Establish constructive relationships with pupils, interacting with them according to their individual needs.
Promote inclusion, engagement, and active participation of all pupils in learning activities.
Encourage pupils to develop their self-esteem, independence, and thirst for learning.
Provide coaching, feedback, and mentoring to help children improve academically, socially, and behaviourally.
Attend to pupils’ personal needs, including assistance with toileting, feeding, dressing, exercises, and mobility.
Provide first aid as necessary and ensure the first aid kit is up-to-date.
Assist in maintaining a purposeful, orderly, and supportive classroom environment.
Contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
Support the monitoring, marking, and recording of pupils’ work, using the school’s tracking data.
Develop classroom displays and assist with the use of ICT in learning activities.
Promote good pupil behaviour, addressing conflicts and incidents promptly in line with school procedures.
Support the development and implementation of speech and language programmes and intervention groups.
Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health, safety, and data protection.
Support high levels of attendance and punctuality.
Participate in out-of-school activities, trips, and other school events.
Contribute to discussions with parents and carers under teacher supervision.
Help with the supervision of pupils during break times, lunch, and before/after school.
Training:
Level 3 Apprenticeship in Teaching Assistant consisting of:
Level 3 Apprenticeship in Teaching Assistant Level 2 Functional Skills in English (if applicable) Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths (if applicable)You will be required to attend a half-day session with HBTC where you will work towards any functional skills (where needed) that you have to take. There will also be an end point assessment.
Training Outcome:
After the Apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity for you to advance in the workplace or go on to higher education.
