Apprentice Nursery Practitioner.
The duties and responsibilities involved in this role include:
Providing full and practical support in the day to day operations of the nursery Planning, organising and implementing appropriate activities for children which meet their physical, social, emotional, intellectual and development needs Assisting in providing a safe, supportive and caring environment for young children Monitoring, assessing, recording and reporting on the development and progress of children in the setting Keeping children’s files up to date with planning for their individual needs, observations, development records and all other relevant documentation Preparing and serving food, milk, drinks and snacks to children as required Assisting children with personal care, including changing nappies, assisting with potty training, toileting, changing clothes Housekeeping duties including cleaning of the nursery to ensure that hygienic standards are maintained at all times The above list of duties is not exhaustive and is subject to change The post holder may be required to undertake other duties within the scope and grading of the post in response to business needsTraining:
Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard, during this apprenticeship you will complete:
Level 1/2 functional skills in maths and English (if required). End-Point Assessment (EPA)Apprenticeships are delivered in the workplace and 20% of your working time will be dedicated to training. You will be allocated a tutor who will provide you with personal support and assessment at pre-arranged times.
Assessment is through a variety of methods including observations in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence and professional discussions. All evidence will be logged to your electronic portfolio
Training Outcome:
Possibility of securing a permanent position within the nursery on completion of the Apprenticeship programme and then to progress onto a Level 3 Early Years Educator
