Apprentice Electrical Power Network Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

Power Network Design Support: Assist senior engineers in the design and planning of electrical power networks for renewable energy projects, ensuring the networks meet all technical specifications and safety standards Installation & Commissioning: Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical power network systems, including cabling, switchgear, transformers, and other electrical infrastructure Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Assist in the ongoing maintenance and fault diagnosis of electrical power networks, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely across renewable energy sites Network Analysis & Modelling: Help with the analysis and modelling of electrical power networks, supporting the evaluation of system performance, load flow, and fault conditions Documentation: Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, maintenance logs, and project documentation, ensuring accurate records are maintained for all work completed Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety standards and regulations, maintaining a focus on safe working practices at all times Learning & Development: Engage in structured training and professional development programs to build technical knowledge and skills, particularly in power network engineering for renewable energy projects Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects, including supporting site work and field-based activities
