Apprentice Civil /Structural Engineering Technician

Produce accurate civil and structural drawings using industry-leading Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Revit, and Building Information Modelling (BIM) software Collaborate with engineers and project managers to support design processes Ensure all drawings meet project specifications and quality standards Balance on-the-job training with college coursework to build a strong technical foundation

Training:
Civil engineering technician Level 3 apprenticeship standard Training will be held at Leeds College of Building College attendance will be one day per week on a day release basis

Training Outcome:

After completing a civil/structural engineering technician apprenticeship, there are several career progression opportunities depending on your interests, skills, and further education.

1. Engineering Technician (EngTech) Status:
Professional Registration: Many apprenticeships are designed to meet the requirements for EngTech status with institutions like the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). This is a recognised professional qualification that can open doors for career advancement.

2. Further Education and Qualifications:
Higher National Certificate/Diploma (HNC/HND): Many apprentices pursue further qualifications, like an HNC or HND in Civil or Structural Engineering, which can deepen technical knowledge.

Bachelor’s Degree (BEng/BSc): With the right qualifications and experience, you might progress to a degree-level apprenticeship or enroll in a part-time/full-time university course.

Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng): With further studies and experience, you could aim for higher professional qualifications, which significantly boost career prospects and salary.

Working Hours :
Full time position - 7.5 hours per day - 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 08:30-5:00pm with one hour's flexibility around start finishing times. One hour for lunch.
