Apprentice Health Care Assistant
There is no average week in the NHS! Successful candidates will be working appropriate shifts to support patient care. Initially, this will generally be Monday to Friday but, as skills and confidence grow, it may begin to involve some weekend/evenings.
Working alongside other healthcare professionals, you will be working at either our Hull Royal Infirmary or Castle Hill Hospital sites, to undertake tasks such as:
Supporting patients with fluid and dietary requirements Helping with menu choices Supporting personal care activities (washing, dressing etc) Making beds Keeping areas clean and tidy Record keeping and helping other clinical staff as appropriateTraining:
Healthcare support worker Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard During this apprenticeship, as well as the Level 2 standard, candidates will achieve the nationally recognised Care Certificate and could achieve (if not already done so) maths and English at Level 2
Training Outcome:
Following successful completion of this apprenticeship you may wish to apply to the advanced/level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship programme (which provides entry to the Registered Nurse Degree Programmes) or to becoming a full time Health Care Assistant within our clinical teams

Please note; the posts being advertised here will be based at either Hull Royal Infirmary and/or Castle Hill Hospital (Cottingham)
Working Hours :
Generally Monday to Friday with shift patterns to meet patient needs (may include 7.00am starts, or starts later in the day, but days will be set at 7.5 hours). As you grow in skills and confidence this may evolve into weekend and evenings. Shifts TBC.
