Food & Drink Maintenance Engineering Apprenticeship

Work with mechanical and electrical equipment as well as automated control systems, carry out planned and preventative maintenance, undertake fault finding and diagnosis.  Championing continuous improvement through involvement in our pladis Excellence programme, reducing downtime and improving operational efficiency.  Ensuring all activities are undertaken safely and in line with food safety standards and legislative requirements.  

Training:

Pladis apprentices attend Midland Group Training Services, Coventry, on a 20 week block release programme in Year 1 followed by a year at our bakery embedding their mechanical, electrical, fluid power and automation skills with our experienced multi-skilled engineers. This is repeated in years 2 and 3 with the blocks 14 weeks and 8 weeks respectively. Apprentices complete an OAL L3 Diploma in Food & Drink Maintenance. 



Training Outcome:

Successful apprentices may progress into permanent Engineering Technician roles.
