Apprentice Machining Technician
Machining of various materials to supplied engineering drawings and tolerances
Use of manual lathes, milling machines, saws, surface grinders and other traditional machines
Basic CNC programming & machining skills for efficient component manufacture
Material handling including goods in/out, identification, quality checks and inspection measurements
Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
Input to continuous improvement and problem resolution activities
Training:
At the end of 42 months you will have attained a Level 3 Machinist Technician Apprenticeship Standard
College training will be at a local college on a day release basis
Training Outcome:
Career progression could see continuation into an advanced technician role via a level 4 higher apprenticeship or HNC, and then further progression via HND and Degree years into an Engineer role
