Production Chef Apprentice

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist the team and the cooks in cooking a range of dishes for students and staff in College, following the organisational brand standards and recipe specifications
• Helping to measure and prepare the ingredients, following the recipes to produce the chosen menu
• Staying up to date with culinary trends and kitchen processes, improving the culinary offer
• Maintaining exceptionally high standards of health and safety and hygiene kitchen environments. Ensuring the kitchen remains clean and tidy at all times
• Assisting in taking deliveries and checking stock to ensure this remains at sufficient levels
• Have a thorough and up to date knowledge of the food menu
• Helping to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen
• To undertake any other duties as required by the Head Chef to ensure the effective running of the kitchen.



Training:
Delivery to be completed on-site and 6 hours per week off the job training Student to complete an Intermediate Technical Certificate as a Production Chef Level 2 Apprentice Functional skills in maths and English, if required.

Training Outcome:

The right candidate may move into a role as a full time cook.

Working week: Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am and 7pm.
