An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a Homeless Outreach Support Team in Guildford, working directly with rough sleepers and those at risk of homelessness.
THE ROLE
As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in delivering person-centred, trauma-informed support to help individuals secure stable accommodation and rebuild their lives.
Provide structured support to vulnerable individuals at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness.
Work proactively with clients to develop personalised support plans, setting clear goals and actions.
Assist clients with tenancy-related matters, including benefit applications and budgeting.
Conduct referrals and assessments to determine the most suitable housing options.
Ensure access to external support services such as mental health, substance misuse, and employment programmes.
Maintain accurate records, including risk assessments and progress reports.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to ensure effective service delivery.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role supporting vulnerable individuals.
Previous experience in homeless outreach, housing support, or a related social care setting.
Knowledge of best practices in crisis intervention and planned support work.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and risk management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
THE CONTRACT
12-week temporary contract with potential for extension.
Full-time role – 37.5 hours per week.
Driver with access to a car required (parking available on-site).
Competitive pay rates: £15.66 LTD / £13.35 PAYE (inc. holiday pay).
