Apprentice Mechanical Engineer
Initially the apprentice will be shadowing a qualified engineer to learn various tasks. As the apprentice grows in confidence and ability they will be carrying out their own simple tasks under the supervision of their mentor. The apprentice will learn all aspects of commercial plant rooms, heating and mechanical systems, eventually becoming a qualified Mechanical/Gas Engineer. The apprentice will learn various operational systems, including the completion of engineering forms, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, timesheets and be competent to complete paperwork for each job.
Training:
Training will be carried out at Choice Training in Essex and will be on a day release basis. Time will be provided for the completion of coursework and portfolios.
Training Outcome:
The candidate will work towards being a Commercial Gas Fitter (GasSafe) or a Commercial Mechanical Pipefitter, depending on which route they chose to take.
Employer Description:
Installation, servicing and repair of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
Working Hours :
Monday to Friday 08.00 - 17.00. There is opportunities for overtime for candidates over 18. Day release for college attendance.
