Criminal Law Paralegal Apprentice

Key Tasks

Attending on clients taking instructions and preparing cases Where appropriate running a caseload of client matters in accordance with the Quality Procedure Manual, LAA Contract and SQM requirements Dealing with correspondence/photocopying as required Undertaking legal research and maintaining legal knowledge through training Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment Contributing to maintaining and improving office procedures Ensuring compliance with Equality and Diversity Policy Preparing draft documents including witness statements, briefs to Counsel and processing evidence  Assisting Supervisor in preparing for a trial Liaising with clients/others by telephone Attending conferences and court Maintaining up to date time records as appropriate Maintaining diaries and making appointments when required Ensure the confidentiality of all the firm's and clients' documentation and information Implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly Preparing and managing funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency

Training:
Level 3 Paralegal apprenticeshipat Innersummit. Functional skills in maths and English, if required.

Training Outcome:

An opportunity for a full-time position at the end of the apprenticeship.
