V05074 - Degree Apprentice Mechanical Engineering
You will be part of one of the largest teams of mechanical engineers, within a variety of areas, including the propulsion system, mechanical systems and structural.
This discipline covers pressurised air and gas, hydraulics, survival and domestics, variable ballast, heating, ventilation, atmosphere control, cooling systems, diesel generators, ocean interfaces, and propulsion systems
Opportunities to support the design and development of submarine mechanical systems, ensuring equipment delivery meets specifications. Responsibilities involve preparing technical reports, calculations and presentations to effectively communicate, writing technical specifications, and aiding in contract selection.
Within Structural, engineers contribute to supporting submarine structural design and outfit design including sheet metal, deck coverings, furniture and fittings, designing equipment to withstand shocks and dynamic movements of the submarine whilst in operation.
Training:
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
Level 6 Electro-mechanical engineer apprenticeship.
