V05071 - Advanced Apprentice Steelwork

Using planned drawings to erect the framework of our products, this involves marking out, cutting and shaping components used for submarines You will be trained in using various types of machinery, in the forming of steel plate. You will be expected to develop your skills with a range of hand tools, such as scribes, dividers, hammers and computer-aided burning machines You will be trained in skills that apply to the steelwork environment and will include burning, welding and slinging The role requires a competency in operating high level technology and software, such as theodolites, dumpy levels, laser levels and 3D laser projection from engineering design data

Training:
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying

Training Outcome:
