Director of Product/CPO - Melbourne based

The Company Our client is undergoing a major corporate transition to strengthen the organisations service delivery platforms, culture, operating models and commercial sustainability to deliver the organisations long-term strategy.

The Role This is a very exciting opportunity to lead a newly formed Product team to develop new strategies.

You will be responsible for market research, participating in strategic product decisions with the leadership team, and providing support to Senior and Executive Teams in decisions regarding current and future product.

The Director of Product will be responsible for the technical vision and development of all Products.

You’ll guide this company into its next phase through continued innovation and business growth.

Key Accountabilities:

Deliver innovative products that are both strategically aligned to the Business Plan and creative, with the ability to develop go-to-market strategies and campaigns in collaboration with marketing team
Drive the product vision of the company and participate in strategic decisions with the Senior and Executive leadership teams, using insights into category-specific landscapes and trends
Lead Product lifecycle from concept to launch of the product(s) across all products/product lines, including enhancement opportunities
Advocate for consumer initiatives as well as enhance the user experience and design, driving innovative ideas, solutions and products and bridging product gaps with both qualitative and quantitative insights
Develop budgets, forecasts, and metrics, defining pricing and competitive positioning for each product
Develop product roadmaps with the Product Managers, aligning resources to execute the plans and influence stakeholders to achieve growth and product adoption
Define product requirements and work closely with relevant internal and external stakeholders to build, design and launch features against a timely schedule
Have a high sense of accountability with a willingness to take educated risks and construct solutions
Effectively lead the Product team and collaborate across teams to deliver outcomes
Work closely with the Executive and Senior Leadership teams to build and execute sustainable corporate performance improvements, strategic growth and competitive advantage

People leader with demonstrated success in leading and mentoring the research, design, and development team
Capable of balancing long-term, strategic road mapping and thought leadership
Exceptional commercial acumen and experience in a complex operational organisation
Proven conceptual, analytical, strategic, and creative thinking skills with an innovative approach to excellence, goal achievement and workable solutions.
Proven ability to lead change across the organisation to deliver outcomes aligned with a strategic business plan and organisational priorities.
Exceptional collaborative, communication, and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated capacity to manage stakeholders and conduct complex negotiations at executive levels, influencing internal and external environments to achieve successful outcomes
