Apprentice Design Technician
Preparing detailed setting out designs using 2D AutoCAD, and progressing the 2D layouts into 3D models for fabrication drawings
Liaising directly with clients, architects, consultants, and structural engineers
Designing the entire structural envelope of buildings, including timber wall panels, joist packs, floor cassettes, roof trusses, steel work, and other ancillary items
Assisting the Estimating department with roof and floor joist quotations and enquiries
Attending design meetings, performing general office administration, and handling printing tasks
Producing CAD drawings in 2D and 3D
Training:
Engineering Design Technician Level 3.
Remote sessions for the BTEC qualification would be undertaken during the academic year.
Assessments would take place in the workplace every 8 weeks.
Two examinations would need to be undertaken at the Training Providers site in Barnsley. You would also need to attend a surveying course in Barnsley for a week as well.
Training Outcome:
Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you will have the chance to work as a qualified digital engineering technician, which in turn can lead on to design office manager or other senior level roles within the organisation.

Working Hours :
Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5pm, Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm
