Apprentice CNC Setter

·         Learning to set and operate a variety of highly advanced multiaxis lathes with the latest Fanuc CNC robotics technology.

·         Loading and running CNC programs to test validity of the code.

·         Producing a valid first off component and having it verified in our metrology department.

·         Conducting in-process inspection to gain an understanding of Metrology.

·         Inspecting work carried out and following the quality assurance system whilst recording production information.

·         Keeping machines and workshop clean and in good maintenance.

·         Reading and understanding engineering drawings and tolerances.

·         Gaining proficiency in a range of measuring equipment and inspection techniques.

·         Gaining a high level of IT literacy, including MS windows and Office.

·         Learning programming and CAD/CAM skills.

·         These various roles will be performed on our fixed head and sliding head departments.

Training:

Training will take place one day a week at Wigan and Leigh College, Pagefield Campus WN1 2JH

Training Outcome:
On the completion of your apprenticeship, we will endeavour to offer you continuity of employment.

Working Hours :
Monday 8am – 5pm (half hour lunch break) Tuesday 8am – 5pm (half hour lunch break) Wednesday 8am – 5pm (half hour lunch break) Thursday – College Day Friday 8am – 3pm (half hour lunch break)
