Science Manufacturing Technician Apprentice
In this role, you will support the manufacturing of nucleic acids within a fast-paced, lean production environment, adhering to strict safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing reagents and buffers Operating automated synthesisers Performing downstream chemical reactions, and maintaining accurate production recordsAs you progress, you will gain experience with advanced purification techniques such as HPLC, RPC, and PAGE gel, conduct analytical assessments including mass spectrometry and optical density measurements, and contribute to product validation and release. The role involves both manual and automated lab work, requiring attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Training:
The learner will be studying the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science Apprenticeship Standard Qualification.
Training Outcome:
If a vacancy is available at the end of the 2-year period and the successful applicant has completed their apprenticeship to a high standard, they will be converted to a permanent position.

Our UK oligo manufacturing plant operates twenty-four hours a day, 6 per week with around eighty employees to meet the fast delivery expectations of these made-to-order products. DNA is everywhere and continues to advance life science research and genomic discoveries that ultimately improve our everyday health and lives.
Working Hours :
Monday - Friday (optional times between the following 7am - 3pm, 8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm with 30-minute lunch)
