Forging Apprentice

Initially accompanied by a fully skilled member of the team. The job holder will increasingly become sufficient as their knowledge and skills develop. 

Duties will include programming machines to make complex parts, operating production machinery along with learning engineering practices and procedures. Including the use of measuring equipment and reading engineering drawings. 

Subject to the job holder's wishes and attainment, education will progress with experience, up to and including a degree level qualification.

Training:

Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard.

Individuals must attend PTP's Walsall Centre once a week (Essex Terrace, Intown, Walsall, WS1 1SQ).

Training Outcome:

Likely future job roles in factory management or technical discipline, if desired.

Days eventually on shift patterns of 6am to 1:30pm and 1:15pm to 9:15pm.
