Early Years Apprentice

To assist with the delivery of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance. To help set up for the day as well as the daily activities and to help tidy away at the end of the session. To observe the children within the setting and record observations, with the support of practitioners, for the setting to have high quality Learning Journeys. To work with the children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences. To ensure that the children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow child protection procedures. To support mealtimes within the setting. To keep confidential information regarding the children, their families or other staff, in accordance with the settings confidentiality policy. To be aware of and adhere to all the setting’s operational policies and procedures, e.g. health and safety, fire precautions, dropping off and collection of children, food safety, cleanliness of the setting etc. To ensure that adequate records are kept and updated regularly. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Pre-school Manager, in accordance with the setting’s objectives and your contract.

Training:
You will be working towards a Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard. You will receive on and off-the-job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor. You will be required to attend Cornwall College Camborne on a weekly basis as part of the apprenticeship training.

Training Outcome:

Potential of a full-time position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

At Constantine Pre-School we also hold a weekly Forest School in our local woods, Bosahan woods. In weekly planning sessions the team work together to collaboratively plan exciting opportunities to support the children's development in a safe and secure environment. Their shared expertise allows for opportunities outdoors that enrich the children's learning, support their wellbeing and encourage investigation.

Working Hours :
Monday 9am – 4.30pm. Tuesday to Friday 8am – 3.15pm. May be required to support with after school club until 4pm.
