Responsible to Chief Executive Officer East of England.

Purpose of the job: To be part of a wider dental team providing clinical and managerial leadership to dentists, dental therapists/hygienists including recruitment, training & development, supervision and direct line management.

This will include providing a full range of dental care to patients of the dental service from routine examinations to advanced specialist treatments. It is expected that clinical work will be integral to this leadership role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical:

◼ Undertakes thorough examination and assessment of adults and children
◼ Undertake the assessment and treatment planning of patients referred in by medical and dental colleagues.
◼ Undertakes the diagnosis, selection of appropriate periodontal techniques and delivery of periodontal care in an effective way. May undertake more advanced periodontal treatment procedures if trained to do so.
◼ Routine exodontia and/or simple surgical extractions. May undertake more advanced surgical procedures if trained to do so.

Registerable dental qualification egRelevant postgraduate A Education and BDS/LDS qualification e.g. Diploma in QualificationsNHS Performer Number and GDC Sedation, Certificate in registration Special Care DentistryKnowledge of NHS Dental ServicesTeaching/training experience AI and current dental issuesExperience of working in aBroad knowledge of special needs community/salaried dental conditions serviceDemonstrate commitment toExperience working in a continuing education leadership role within generalDemonstrate an understanding of practice, i.e. supervision and health and safety management training provided within implications and a knowledge of corporate environments also dental issues in relation to health and be desirable safetyExperience of providing dentalSound understanding of basics of care under general clinical governance anaesthesia and/or inhalationWide range of clinical skills, with a and Intravenous sedation minimum of 4 years post qualification experienceHas sufficient knowledge, confidence and experience to provide advice Knowledge and and/or support to colleagues or managers on ethical issues Experience
