Pipefitting Apprenticeship

In this role, you’ll develop the skills and experience needed to achieve Engineering Technician status and become a qualified pipefitter. As a Pipefitter Apprentice, you will:

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Shape and profile pipes and components using power tools, mechanical cutting machines, and other equipment. Learn how to work with various materials, such as carbon, stainless, and duplex steels Prepare and fit piping systems according to engineering drawings and specifications. Collaborate with pipe welders and across the wider business on various projects. Receive specific training tailored to nuclear industry requirements.

In addition to the above, you’ll also receive training on accident and first aid, manual handling techniques, and working in potentially hazardous environments.



Training:

You’ll receive your training through Cavendish Nuclear on-site at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, and in the classroom at Bridgwater and Taunton College. The combination of real-world experience and classroom learning will help you to achieve your Level 3 Engineering Construction Pipefitter Apprenticeship.



Training Outcome:

As a Pipefitting Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work closely and proactively with experienced teams at Hinkley Point C.  Once qualified as a Pipefitter, you will possess a specialised skill set that will be invaluable to Hinkley Point C, paving the way for exciting opportunities to contribute to future nuclear and infrastructure projects across the UK, such as Sizewell C.
