Removals Operatives Apprentice

This exciting new opportunity will involve becoming a team member integrating into our existing teams, completing removals for both Domestic and business customers, whilst completing your 13-month, Level 2 Porter training then working towards your HGV CAT C (class2) entitlement. The programme is with a leading training provider and the British Association of Removers.

Your day-to-day role will involve visiting Homes and Businesses, helping our customers move all over North Yorkshire and the UK.

This career opportunity is suitable to both experienced removal porters looking to take the next step with their careers as well as someone looking to start their career journey with Archers removals.

Here’s how our porter to HGV driver career pathway works:

1.       You start as a removals operative Trainee. You’ll learn how the removals industry operates, develop practical skills and specialist knowledge, and accompany our trained drivers out on the road.

2.       At the end of your first year, you will of successfully completed your porter training

3.       we then enrol you on a LGV Training program, where you’ll learn to drive a Cat C (class 2) removal truck



Training:

You will be expected to complete monthly online training to develop skills and knowledge around your role. Also, you will be required to achieve your functional skills in Maths and English at Level 1, only if the candidate does not hold GCSE’s Level 4 or equivalent. (Evidence is required). Your role will be based at P.W Archer & Son Ltd Springwell Lane, Northallerton, DL7 8QP

After you complete this apprenticeship, your duties and responsibilities will align with your next training and development phase to continue your career journey.

Our services cover North Yorkshire, Teesside, Durham and the UK. We will do our best to ensure that the service delivered is a pleasant experience.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, overtime when required. Nights out when required for work schedules. (Hotel room supplied and meal allowance).
