Children's Support Worker

Children's Support Worker

£9.50 to £12 per hour

Better Healthcare Services are building a team of Children’s Support Workers to provide care to children and young people in either a residential, educational or community environment.

You may be required to provide support to children and young people who have physical disabilities and require some level of personal care or may need support with their mental health and may be in contact with CAMHS.

The young people may have a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD or other disorders.

You would be fully prepped on this before attending any shift.

Our support packages could be based in Peterborough or within the county, so being a driver is beneficial but not a requirement.

Main responsibilities:

Engaging with the young person as per their likes and dislikes
Maintaining routines set out by the young person's care plans
Engaging with the families (and at times may be required to provide emotional support)
Document accurately
Maintaining a safe environment for the young person in your care and being aware of any risk factors
You may be required to escort the young person out in the community or attend appointments with them
Remaining a positive and consistent person for the families and can build strong, therapeutic relationships
Being able to safeguard the young people from harm and knowing what to do if you have a concern.
