Early Years Educator Apprentice

Purpose of Role:

To assist in the provision of an early years environment in which children are safe, happy and supported in fulfilling their individual potential. To work to agreed policies and practices ensuring a good quality standard of care in line with Ofsted standards. To contribute to the planning of the Early Years Foundation Stage experiences. To ensure the general health and welfare of children are met including the changing and cleaning of children who are wet or soiled. To develop a good relationship with parents and carers To work within policies and procedures to promote a fully inclusive service. To have knowledge of other professional and informal support services and be able to sensitively signpost parents towards these. To consult with other members of the team to ensure individual needs are met. To have an understanding of child protection issues and liaise with the designated child protection co-ordinator and special needs co-ordinator should area of concern arise. To be flexible within the working practices of the nursery including undertaking of domestic tasks. To attend and participate in meetings as required. To undertake any other duties as may be required.

Training:

Level 3 qualification Early Years Educator. All training will be completed within the setting throughout the apprenticeship.



Training Outcome:

There will also be the possibility of a permanent position available upon successful completion with an enhanced hourly rate. Further in house qualifications including opportunities to develop additional qualifications.



Employer Description:
We are an Early Years childcare setting and Ofsted rated Outstanding childcare provider. We cater for children from birth to 5 years. We currently have over 50 children on roll and have a waiting list for our services. We are based in Penshaw (Coalfields area) with easy access routes to and from the setting. The Daycare setting is part of the Tyne and Wear Learning Trust.

Working Hours :
Monday – Friday. Shifts TBC.
