Apprentice Teaching Assistant

Working alongside and under the direction of the classroom teachers to provide support for all learners Provide targeted support for those with SEND, vulnerabilities and additional learning needs Ensure that all students understand the learning objectives and work they have to complete, supporting them to focus and remain on task with increasing independence With the class teacher, keep other professionals accurately informed of performance and progress or concerns they may have about the students they work with Share responsibility for ensuring that your own knowledge and understanding are relevant and up to date by reflecting on your own practice, liaising with school leaders, and identifying relevant professional development to improve personal effectiveness. Demonstrate a level of subject and curriculum knowledge relevant to the role and apply this effectively in supporting teachers and pupils

You will be assigned classes to support over the two-week timetable of the school. You will have a day release time to complete your apprenticeship work and you will have regular meetings with your school mentor and apprentice coach. 



Training:

Whilst the majority of the training will be in the workplace, regular attendance will be required at Cirencester College.



Training Outcome:

Potential employment on a permanent contract at the school should a vacancy arise.

School hours, Monday to Friday 30.5 hours, term time only (39 weeks).
