Apprentice Estimator

Key Responsibilities:

Learning and Development:

Participate in structured training programs to gain knowledge of the estimating process, construction techniques, and industry standards Work towards completing a relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ, HNC, or equivalent)

Estimating Support:

Assist in preparing cost estimates, including materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor costs Help in gathering information from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing Shadow senior estimators to understand the preparation of tender submissions

Technical Understanding:

Learn to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements Support the maintenance of pricing databases and project documentation

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with senior estimators, project managers, and the procurement team to ensure smooth operations Assist with the preparation of reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders

Site Visits:

Attend site visits with senior team members to gain practical experience in project evaluation and measurements

Training:

Business Administrator Level 3.

A structured apprenticeship program with full support towards gaining a relevant qualification.

Hands-on experience in estimating, working on real-world projects.
