Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship

General Early Years Teaching Assistant duties Supporting lessons, including working with small groups to develop pupil attainment levels Provide personal care such as nappy changing under the supervision of classroom staff Supervise pupils at play and during snack times Provide support to the class teacher in a range of capacities To work under guidance of the SENCO/Curriculum leader in planning implementation of work programmes to support pupils with additional needs One to one support with children in the classroom Assist class teachers with planning Undertake basic record keeping as directed by class teacher and senior teachers Replace consumable resources as directed by class teacher and senior leaders Operate everyday equipment to fulfil the role, in accordance with instructions Ensure classrooms are kept in tidy and safe condition for learning Prepare resources, equipment for lessons, clubs and activities To understand the importance of inclusion, equality and diversity, both when working with children and with colleagues, and to promote equal opportunities for all To uphold and promote the values and the ethos of the school To implement and uphold the policies, procedures and codes of practice of the school, including relating to customer care, finance, data protection, ICT, health and safety, anti-bullying and safeguarding/child protection To take a pro-active approach to health and safety, working with others in the school to minimise and mitigate potential hazards and risks, and actively contribute to the security of the school e.g. challenging a stranger on the premises To participate and engage with workplace learning and development opportunities To attend and participate in relevant meetings as appropriate To undertake any other additional duties commensurate with the grade of the post

Training:
Early Years Practitioner Level 2 You will attend weekly training sessions at the Oldham College

Training Outcome:

Any successful apprentice who demonstrates the ability and necessary skills to carry out the role of a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner to a high standard, may be considered for any vacancy that may arise in the school. This would be part of a further recruitment process.
