Project Engineer - Plant Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join a thriving team based in Exeter. This full-time, day-shift position plays a vital role in maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment, services, buildings, and grounds to meet current and future business demands. Key Responsibilities As a Project Engineer, your duties will include: - Developing project plans for machine rearrangement, equipment installation, process improvements, and cost reduction projects. - Identifying, specifying, sourcing, and procuring machinery and equipment. - Supervising subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with company and health and safety requirements. - Leading cost-saving initiatives and identifying method improvement opportunities. - Purchasing parts and equipment for improvement projects, managing receipts, and raising purchase requisitions. - Providing technical expertise and analysis to improve equipment availability and asset utilisation. - Enhancing equipment reliability by identifying and addressing recurring faults and reducing downtime. - Assisting the Maintenance team with fault finding on-site and on machinery. - Driving reliability excellence (REX) on critical equipment. - Creating and maintaining technical documentation for new and existing equipment. Project Engineer Requirements The ideal Project Engineer will possess: - A qualification of HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Controls, or Mechanical Engineering, along with at least 1 year of relevant technical experience in an engineering environment. Development opportunities may be available for candidates with other engineering qualifications and experience. - The ability to identify and resolve recurring reliability issues and draft maintenance procedures. - CAD and business systems experience (e.g., Oracle, MP2, or automation) is highly desirable. - Proficiency in analysing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) for critical equipment. - Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Microsoft Project is advantageous. - Multiskilled experience across electrical and mechanical disciplines is a plus. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
