Civil and Structural Engineering Apprentice

You will be responsible for developing drawn information (in Revit, CAD, Civil 3D drawing packages). Including Layouts, Details, Sections etc. with the assistance of engineers in the office You will be responsible for managing the flow and record keeping of design information – including maintaining an up to date record of GCA drawn information and incoming third party information through emails and GCA’s document management procedures As you progress through your training you will be increasingly expected to assist junior staff in their development of basic engineering designs (e.g. Retaining wall design, foundation design, cut & fill, drainage) You will also have the opportunity to develop strong communication skills, including communicating by phone and by E-mail with other team members We will develop you to eventually be responsible for liaising with clients, contractors and members of the wider design team on project related issues

Training:
Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6, Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree): The Level 6 Civil Engineering Apprenticeship is a degree-level programme where apprentices study towards a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering Training will include day release (one day per week) at Nottingham Trent University’s city campus On completion of the Apprenticeship you will have satisfied the requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer by the Institution of Civil Engineers in accordance with the requirements of the Engineering Council as the registration body

Training Outcome:
Following completion of the apprenticeship, candidates may choose to pursue a career as a design focused Civil and/or Structural Engineer, or pursue a more drawing based career as an Engineering Technician. GCA actively encourage and help graduates obtain professional accreditation with either route of CEng or TechEng with the ICE or IStructE

Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm (Flexi hours available)
