Commis Chef Apprentice

Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality dishes within their section Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes Assisting with the management of health and safety Assisting with the management of food hygiene practices Monitoring portion and waste control Stock-taking

Training:
Training will be 6 hours per week During term time, training will be held on Wednesdays at Grantham College, Stonebridge Road, NG31 9AP Outside of term time, the apprentice will train either at Finkin's or by working on tutor-set assignments Depending on the apprentice's GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications), they may be required to attend/achieve Functional Skills maths and English alongside the apprenticeship training This would take place at Grantham College on the same day as the Commis Chef training

Training Outcome:

The successful apprentice may be given a permanent position at Finkin’s upon completion of the apprenticeship. They may decide to further their skills by progressing onto the level 3 Chef de Partie apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
The hours will be based over 7 days on a rota basis. There will be split shifts.
