Maintenance Fitter/Engineer Apprentice

The apprentices will receive specific training timetables for the length of the apprenticeship, training in areas such as Manual Milling, Drilling and Turning, Assembly, Grinding, CNC Milling & Turning, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality & Inspection, Deburring, Part Marking and Bonded Stores.

There may be a slight difference to the training plan for the Maintenance Engineer/Fitter to ensure that it is more specific to the apprenticeship.

The working week should be one day at college followed by 3 days at work and a few hours study time at home or college on a Friday.

Training:
Training will be between the college and onsite at Bowmill Engineering Poole. During term breaks, the apprentice will be at Bowmill full time Monday to Thursday, with some study time given for home on a Friday. Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship Standard (https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/engineering-fitter-v1-4) Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths as required Personal Development Topics as part of the programme

Training Outcome:
Progression to Full Time employment and/or Progression to a higher level apprenticeship/further training. Inhouse training.
