Fabrication and Welding Apprentice
· Plan fabrication by studying routing, materials, specifications, drawings, and welding parameters.
· Sets-up pipe work / steel work to be welded. Verify settings by measuring positions and adhering to international standards.
Maintain specifications by adhering to weld procedure specifications ; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting
· processes; adjusting equipment in use; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
· Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
· Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
· Document actions by completing material and weld location plans, weld consumable and grinding logs.
Training:
One day per week college attendance.
Metal Fabricator Level 3 Metal fabricator / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical EducationTraining Outcome:
On completion of the apprenticeship some apprentices access HNC and HND education. Progression into a supervisor role is possible.

Working Hours :
EITHER 4 DAY WEEK MON-THURS 7AM-5.15PM OR 5 DAY WEEK MON-THURS 8AM-5PM FRI 8AM-1PM
