Early Years Apprentice

What will my average day look like?

You will be supporting children and be a role model.

Support children on a one-to-one basis, in small groups or as part of a full class. Get creative in helping children to achieve their developmental steps. Assist with breakfast/lunchtime/after school clubs. Help with assessments and inputting of data. Change children as required and after training. Administer basic first aid after training. Assist in planning and creating inspiring learning environments. Prepare simple, healthy snacks. Develop over time into a key person role. Work inside and outside. Set up and tidy areas and resources. Contribute to planning and assessment. Any other duties which are relevant to the smooth running of the nursery as directed by the Head Teacher or members of staff. Lead activities and stories.

Training:

You will be working towards your Early Years Educator Level 3 Qualification and attend 1-2-1 meetings via teams every month to discuss your progress with your tutor and learn about modules including risk management, key person & attachment, learning & development, and more!  You will have a minimum of 6 hours per week to complete apprenticeship work which includes assignments, research, and training within your role. All apprenticeship work is completed in the workplace during your working hours.

Boston Nursery School work in the education and childcare sector. They have a supportive and friendly team that will help you throughout your apprenticeship journey Boston Nursery School is a local authority-maintained nursery school that works with the Lincolnshire Maintained Nursery School federation. We are part of Lincolnshire County Council.

Working Hours :
Salary: £6.40 per hour, 40 hours per week Hours: Monday to Friday; 7.30-3pm OR 8.30-4pm (maybe occasional days where we need additional cover at Afterschool club until 5.15pm)
