Mechanical fitter apprentice 25-0003
The role will allow the individual to get involved in all aspects of mechanical engineering processes within the rotating machines industry. Machine shop activities, balancing & mechanical fitting. These are all areas in which you will gain experience and find your place.
Your Key Responsibilities & Accountability on completion of the apprenticeship include:
Producing Components using Hand Fitting Techniques Repair & Refurbishment of mechanical assemblies Preparing and using Lathes for Turning Operations Preparing and using Milling Machines Dynamic Balancing & Laser Alignments Attend lectures, practical workshops, and visits as per training provider's learning planIn addition to the above responsibilities, you will also be taught general machining skills.
Training:
You will study on a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician standard. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Advanced Level 3.
During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis. After this, you will attend the Training Centre for one day a week for knowledge study.
Training Outcome:
Completion of the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre apprenticeships earns nationally recognised qualifications that are acknowledged and respected by employers across the world.
These can open the door to many more opportunities, such as Engineering Management and Project Engineering positions across a range of sectors worldwide.

Working Hours :
You will work Monday to Friday. Your start and finish times including your shift pattern will be determined by the employing company (TBC).
