information communications Technician Apprentice

Both a logical, methodical approach to work, along with a practical and physical requirement. One day could be investigating and diagnosing a network fault, and the next could be installing a CCTV camera from a cherry picker As technical support, your key role is to maintain and operate the systems we use every day, along with implementing and improving systems and procedures as the role progresses With 5 main sites in the UK, the job varies greatly between them. The role will include practical involvement as well as desk-bound administrative tasks A ‘can do’ attitude towards all tasks in relation to IT is a must as the role at times is all-encompassing We aim to provide training ongoing to strengthen your knowledge and benefit the existing installations

Training:

As the successful apprentice you will undertake an Apprenticeship in ICTLevel 3 Information Communications Technician, to include assessment in Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours of an IT Apprentice. A Standard contains a list of the skills, knowledge and behaviours an apprentice will need to have learned by the end of their apprenticeship.

These include:

Technical Competencies Communication IT Security Remote Infrastructure Data Problem solving Workflow management Health and Safety Performance

This will include Functional Skills in maths and English, on completion of your End Point Assessment if you do not have a Level 2 or equvalent qualification. Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point Assessment.

During your time on the apprenticeship programme, you will also be expected to complete and document 20% off-job-training. You will be supported with your learning by a tutor and assessor during your time as an apprentice. 

You will attend  SGS College for half a day, term time only to complete your learning.

This port facility is experienced in handling a diverse range of cargoes including dry bulks, minerals, timber, and many other products, using modern quay-transfer equipment. The facility offers extensive open and covered storage, including grain silos.

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, shifts to be confirmed.
