Operations Manager - Treasury

Job Description:

A trusted client of Core Asset’s is in search of an experienced wealth management or investment operations manager with robust cross-functional awareness of operations to manage the treasury teams within the business as well as being the product owner for our tax related services including ISA administration.


The business is currently experiencing a period of significant growth and as a result, the scope of the role and responsibilities will require individual flexibility but is coupled with real opportunities for growth and development.

As a senior operations management role, ownership, accountability and drive will be critical success criteria.

Essential Skills/Experience:

CISI Operations Level 4
Experience of managing investment or wealth management operations
Strong cross-functional awareness of operations
Experience of ISA rules and products
Strong accounting and tax technical knowledge.
A track record of process improvement
Analytical and accurate in approach.
Ability to effectively operate with enthusiasm and flexibility in a fast-paced, continually evolving environment
Proven leadership and management skills; ability to prioritise and identify high-risk issues and communicate to senior management as required.
Strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritise heavy workload and work efficiently under pressure
Ability to quickly learn new processing systems
Ability to anticipate problems
Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Core Responsibilities:

General duties

Comply with operational risk and regulatory control policies and procedures, logging and monitoring risk events where appropriate.
Participate directly, or identify and manage team resources to provide business input into project activity (including opportunity identification, requirements gathering, user testing or benefit realisation).
Responsible for challenging systems and processes to ensure that they are fit for purpose and cost effective.
Lead manager and develop the team, work in a cross-functional basis to support the head of Operations.
Effectively manage staff resources to ensure that all tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner and deadlines are met

Treasury

Manage the Treasury function ensuring staff are motivated, led and developed
Supervise all aspects of cash management on behalf of our clients
Manage key relationships with external financial service providers and monitor key performance indicators.
Drive innovation within the team to continually improve processes and deliver ever greater levels of straight through processing
Shape client behaviour to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and policies.
Ensure all requests are appropriately authorised in line with the business’s internal controls.

Tax Efficient Wrappers

Owner of the business’s ISA Plan Manager and SIPP service
Ensure compliance with ISA rules and regulations
Oversee key processes within the business
Maximise the scalability of the ISA and SIPP services
Work with the client relationship managers to develop ISA and SIPP services with other existing clients
Responsible for coordinating training within the business to ensure key business functions are covered
Act as Subject Matter Expert for ISA and SIPP related matters, sourcing appropriate industry training and attending industry events as necessary.
