Apprenticeship Maintenance Engineer

1. Assist in the routine inspection, maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems,
machines, and equipment.
2. Assist in preventative maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments to
machinery to prevent breakdown.
3. Carry out compliance-based maintenance tasks relating to water treatment, fire, access
equipment inspections and emergency lighting.
4. Document maintenance activities, including updates to logs, tickets, and inspection reports.
5. Help ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies in all maintenance
operations.
6. Attend workshops, training sessions and courses as part of the apprenticeship to gain
knowledge.
7. Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.



Training:

Your training will be provided by both your Employer and Grey Seal Academy. All training is delivered face to face at the workplace either on site or video conferencing; this includes x1 training session and x1 coaching session per month
You will have access to an online portfolio and virtual learning environment to assist your training and assessment during your programme. 

During the Apprenticeship you will learn the following topics:

Understand the roles, responsibilities and reporting procedures of a property maintenance operative Health and safety in property maintenance Apply customer service in property maintenance Carrying out painting and tiling tasks Plan and carry out preventative property maintenance Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs Carry out electrical testing and repairs Understand and maintain heating ventilation and air conditioning plant Internal and External Building Fabric Maintenance Understand energy, environment and sustainable practices within property maintenance Control of property maintenance related resources and equipment Working with external contractors

At the end of the apprenticeship you will have the following qualification(s).

Property Maintenance Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard Functional Skills in Mathematics Level 1 / 2 (if applicable) Functional Skills in English Level 1 / 2 (if applicable)

Training Outcome:

There is the potenital of a permanent contract at the end of the apprenticeship.
