IT Apprentice

Provide operational support for the Trust’s ICT systems to deliver an efficient and effective service to pupils, staff and parents. To respond in a timely manner to IT helpdesk tickets and requests ensuring service level agreed timescales are met. Answer telephone and email requests for support placing new items on the IT helpdesk.  To communicate clearly with staff that report IT problems and request support, using the helpdesk and email.  Set up equipment such as laptops, data projectors, interactive whiteboards, sound systems and other specialist equipment, ensuring that systems are ready for use and operating correctly. To assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance and documentation of networking equipment as required. To establish and maintain user accounts for all staff, pupils and parents using the school network, including disk space, print quotas, granting appropriate permissions, access and security levels according to the school’s policy. Work as part of a wider school team and work effectively and collaboratively with all colleagues in delivering service excellence and contributing positively to school life.

Training:

The apprenticeship training is delivered 100% in the workplace with regular meetings with a Yeovil College Assessor. This training will teach you the knowledge, skills and behaviours set out in the Information Communications Technician standard.



Training Outcome:

On completion of this apprenticeship, you will receive the Information Communications Technician Level 3 qualification. You will be able to use this qualification to progress within IT Support.
