Rooftops Nursery is an independent family run Nursery with a small team of dedicated child-care practitioners. The proprietor works within the team and so is available to our families. At Rooftops Nursery our experienced staff team assist children from 2-5 years to move towards the National Early Learning goals. We are regularly inspected by Ofsted and you can access or last report on www.ofsted.gov.uk. We uphold the highest standards of care and Education. We have received excellent reports by using a creative and broad ranging curriculum where the children learn by ‘doing and exploring’. The children at Rooftops are taking an individual pathway to learning where their efforts are praised and their achievements are celebrated. Rooftops has been established since 1994 by Elaine Walton, the Director, and is an independent nursery. We are situated on the top floor of Priestley House and are very fortunate to have two rooftop gardens. We are accessed via the stairs of Leonard Day House. The building does not have a lift facility. Our premises are spacious and airy and offer lots of natural light. Many parent/carers have stated that the nursery is well worth the climb! In fact the children absolutely love to race up and see who is the fastest! We have regular inspections by Ofsted who assess the education and care we provide. “high quality education which enables the children to make good progress towards the early learning goals”. (Ofsted) Please see the Ofsted website for further details and access to our inspection reports. Rooftops has also been awarded the ‘Heartbeat award’ for our menus. This award highlighted our achievements in providing good quality, nutritious and well balanced meals. Thus ensuring that each child receives a healthy diet throughout their day at the nursery. This high standard prevails to this day and we strive continuously to ensure our menu’s always reflect this achievement. In recognition of these two prestigious awards we were featured in the Ham & High newspaper on May 6th 2005. The staff team at Rooftops are committed to providing a safe, secure, inviting and flourishing environment for the children. We are very proud of our staff team and our turn-over of staff members is minimal. Five of the nine staff members have been in our employment for three years and over.
