Administrator / Receptionist Apprenticeship
Job responsibilities include but not limited to:
Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided for patients and any other visitors to the practice Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments Using your own judgement and communication skills ensures that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed Receive and make telephone calls as required Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery Enter requests for home visits onto the medical records, ensuring careful recording of all relevant details and triaging through to the appropriate Doctor Action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient within 48 hours, either on the computer or manually Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non-General Medical Services) services, accept payment and issue receipts for same Enter patient information on to the computer as required Patient notes and correspondence: Retrieve and re-file records as required, ensuring strict alphabetical order is adhered to ensure that all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately General office duties Ensure security of data at all times Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Reception SupervisorTraining:
Level 3 Business Administrator advanced apprenticeship standard with SBC Training, Shrewsbury Maths and Enlgish functional skills if required
The Business Administration apprenticeship is designed to equip participants with the fundamentals required to work in any business environment.
The programme is delivered using a blend of online, anytime learning and expert-led classroom training covering core topics. Throughout this Apprenticeship, participants will be supported by tutors, who have worked in a business environment.
They have gained many years of experience and can truly support you to develop the skills and knowledge required to work in a wide range of administrative roles.
