Apprentice Learning Support Assistant

The ideal candidate will be responsible for;

Supporting individual students and within teacher-led small groups Supporting some students to access mainstream lessons as a 1:1 Encouraging students’ engagement in learning and promoting positive behaviour

To be considered for this inclusive role, you should:

Have an interest in working with children with ASC/Language and Communication needs Have a desire to understand the needs of autistic students and support them in an educational environment Have a calm, positive attitude and be a clear, confident communicator Be able to follow instructions from our experienced team Be able to build and develop trusting, professional relationships with students and staff

Training:
Delivery will take place at our Bridgwater Campus on a weekly basis, term time only

Training Outcome:
Once qualified, we would hope to support the successful candidate in further professional development

Employer Description:
Bridgwater College Academy (BCA) has a Local Authority funded Autism Resource Base for KS3/4 students, based on the primary site of the Academy. The Polden Centre is an inclusive, specialist provision for students with a diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) or significant language and communication need.

Working Hours :
Full Time (1 day in college) 31.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus 2 INSET days and some twilight sessions) Working hours: 8:05am to 3:20pm (with 30 minute unpaid breaks) Monday to Friday
