Teaching Assistant Apprentice

Duties will include; 

Providing support to teachers in preparing for lessons and helping to create a safe and enjoyable learning environment. You will work together with the class teacher to support pupils with classroom activities and help to manage behaviour. You will support all areas of the curriculum including literacy, numeracy and ICT within the classroom. You’ll also accompany teaching staff and pupils on trips and other out-of-school activities. Other duties that may arise that fit with your role or add to your learning. 

Training:

Apprentices will attend 6-weekly on-campus activity days at the University of Derby - Buxton, transport is available from Leek. Addtionally, Apprentices will be assigned an Instructor-Mentor who will regularly visit them in the workplace, complete observations, professional discussions and discuss progress throughout.

Working Hours :
37 hours per week Monday to Friday. Likely start/finish times 8.30am to 4.30pm term time only, subject to requirements. There may be some additional training days out side of term. Working hours will include time completing off-the-job training.
