Apprentice Freight Forwarder

Supporting colleagues with operational duties. To effectively liaise with clients, suppliers and colleagues using a variety of communication methods. To gain a thorough understanding of the freight forwarding environment. To understand and manage the bookings process. To deal with and raise all required documentation. Liaise with carriers, handling agents and customers effectively, always providing a high level of customer service. To understand and manage transport requirements. To understand the sales quotations and pricing process. To raise invoices to customers and agents. To effectively use the in-house systems available. General administrative duties to support the branch. To develop an understanding of compliance with regard to customs, import and export laws and regulations.

 

 



Training:

On-the-job training delivered by the employer.
Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeships English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3.
Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training.
Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge, skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop.
Identify, track, and support 6 hours of off-the-job training activities.
Quarterly formal progress review meetings, identifying learning achievements and next steps.



Training Outcome:

We support all our apprentices and actively seek career progression pathways for them upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
