Nursery nurse apprentice

Main duties and responsibilities:

Preparation of and assistance with all activities relevant to the children’s needs Observation of each child’s progress, development and maintenance of rewards with the encouragement of parental involvement and support Assist in the provision of safe, creative, and appropriate play activities for the development of the child’s progress Assist with the personal hygiene and welfare of the children Identification of possible child abuse or neglect which will be discussed immediately with the nursery manager Supervision of meals and refreshments needs Work within the agreed Policies and Practice Handbook Carry out all responsibilities and activities within Equal Opportunities In the absence of the parent, ensure the care of sick children and those suffering minor injury Assist with extra-curricular activities and functions for example staff meeting, fund-raising events, etc. Undertake any other duties as requested by the nursery manager

Training:
Hull College will deliver the Apprentcieship Standard Early Years Educator Level 3 Plus functional skills in maths and English if required

Training Outcome:
For the right candidate there may be an opportunity for full time employment upon successful completion of the apprenticeship

Monday - Friday, 8.15am - 3.30pm.
