Packing Technician Apprentice

The apprentice will spend time working at Momart and the William Morris Gallery.

At Momart, apprentices will:

Wrap and pack fragile art objects (intensive training given) Fabrication and preparation of packing systems, linings and wraps Safe handling of works utilising lifting equipment appropriate to the task Assess and record condition of artworks Completion of operational paperwork

At the William Morris Gallery apprentices will:

Assisting curators with object moves and ensuring location controls are maintained Assisting curations with display installation and deinstallation Ensuring work areas remain safe and tidy Ensuring display areas remain clean Couriering of objects within London

Training:

The successful candidate will be based in our packing and casemaking department for 3 days, with 1 day a week at The William Morris Gallery and 1 day a weeks study with Westminster Adult Education Service, which is a variety of online and in person learning.

Training Outcome:

Hopefully apprentices will secure a role with Momart or the William Morris Gallery.

Working Hours :
Momart 3 days, 7.30am - 4.30pm, and 1 other day at the William Morris Gallery (hours to be confirmed).
